not fresh install
was installed and running
ran :
  ~/: sudo nginx -s stop
  ~/sudo service nginx stop

prior to install

It looks like it tried to stop it but errored. Do me a favor, and see if it works when you have nginx running, as it should automatically try and stop the server anyways...

sudo service nginx start

then run the upgrade...

sudo apt-get install -f

See if that resolves the failure error here.
