App is continuously redrawing even though there is nothing changing visually

Bug Description
Start app with QT_LOGGING_
You will continuously get:
qt.scenegraph.
amongst many others, which indicate that the UI is being redrawn.
Even with occlusion enabled, we still get:
qt.scenegraph.
There may be a hidden activity indicator which is set to running even though not visible.
