Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xgl

Xgl uses the English keyboard layout by default. It should however use the same keyboard layer as in "regular gnome" / X.

I concur, after the xserver-xgl - the keyboard layout seems to default to US .. (not UK english as set in the installation)

I find that the keyboard defaults to a 101 US layout. Also if you uninstall xserver you are then asked to choose you layout ecah time you log on. See:

I'm declining the stable release nominations on this bug, since while it appears to be annoying I don't believe it meets the requirements for stable updates (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates).
