Bug Description

I have a crt screen IIYAMA HM903DT that i have selected in the list of screens (in screen preference...)
there is no all frequencies available with this screen (only 60 - 70 and 85 hz)
this screen go until 160 hz and even more but it is not important (i can force in xorg.conf other frequencies).
xorg.conf created after selected my HM903DT screen :
modeline "1280x1024@75" 135.0 1280 1296 1440 1688 1024 1025 1028 1066 +hsync +vsync
  modeline "1280x960@60" 102.1 1280 1360 1496 1712 960 961 964 994 -hsync +vsync
  modeline "1280x960@85" 148.5 1280 1344 1504 1728 960 961 964 1011 +hsync +vsync
  modeline "1280x1024@85" 157.5 1280 1344 1504 1728 1024 1025 1028 1072 +hsync +vsync
  modeline "1280x1024@60" 108.0 1280 1328 1440 1688 1024 1025 1028 1066 +hsync +vsync
  modeline "1280x960@75" 129.86 1280 1368 1504 1728 960 961 964 1002 -hsync +vsync

so all is ok in xorg.conf

but the little problem is in the display of frequencies in the list (screen preference option of gutsy) that show that the screen is @ 50 hz and not @ 85 hz.
I can choose 50 - 51 or 56 hz...... (in place of 60 - 75 - 85)
And my screen is well @ 85 hz

Bryce Harrington (bryce) wrote : displayconfig-gtk is deprecated

Thank you for reporting this bug and for your efforts to make
Ubuntu better. As Xorg has improved this past year, an unfortunate side
effect of these improvements is that it has rendered several design
assumptions in displayconfig-gtk obsolete. So, starting with Hardy we
are no longer putting displayconfig-gtk forth as a primary configuration
tool, and are putting our development focus into the Screen Resolution
applet. As a result, we do not plan to fix this bug and thus are closing
it.
