Ultra 24 running Gutsy shows blackscreen after booting from hibernation

Bug Description

I'm running Gutsy on a Sun Ultra 24. When selecting System -> Quit -> Hibernate, the machine seems to power down properly. When I power up the machine, the boot sequence starts and the Ubuntu progress bar appears. However, after the progress bar disappears, there is only a blank screen and no password prompt.

I tried to press Ctrl-Alt-F1 to switch to another console, just in case the graphic console was having problems displaying the password prompt, but nothing happens.

Hi Marc,

Care to verify if this is still an issue in the latest Hardy Alpha release? Thanks.
