25kb/s is not 50% of my network speed?

Bug Description

look at the attached screenshot. it's saying that I'm sending at around 25kb/s and then it shows this rate as roughly "50%". my connection is a 10mbit so what does 50% mean in this context? I think this is confusing to the user.

This machine was a gutsy tribe 5 installation once upon a time but I've updated apt-get after gutsy release.
