power button does not work on pc kubuntu 7.10

Bug Description

* I have an ordinary pc mb asus am2...
* I am running kububtu 7.10
* acpid installed and running
* event (event=button[ /]power) successfully executes /etc/acpi/powerbtn.sh

But there is no any reaction when I press POWER button.

I've tried to run manually
$ sudo /usr/bin/dcop --all-sessions --all-users ksmserver ksmserver logout 1 2 0

Result:
DCOPClient::attachInternal. Attach failed Could not open network socket
DCOPClient::attachInternal. Attach failed Could not open network socket
ERROR: Couldn't attach to DCOP server!
DCOPClient::attachInternal. Attach failed Could not open network socket
DCOPClient::attachInternal. Attach failed Could not open network socket
ERROR: Couldn't attach to DCOP server!

Check dcop on amarok:
$ dcop amarok player stop
Amarok stopped

Is this symptom reproducible in 8.10?

I have no 8.10. I will stick with LTS 8.04 for now and have no plan to upgrade until 9.04.
