Bug Description

Binary package hint: evolution

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a list of tasks, preferably long enough to make the scrollbar show up
2. Edit the due date on any task
3. Press Enter, or click outside the task to save changes
4. Selection jumps randomly! This causes the user to lose their place in the list, sometimes scrolling to the very end of the list.

Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy Gibbon)
evolution 2.12.1 (package version 2.12.1-0ubuntu1)

Thanks for your report, I only get a re order because of the change of the due date, but not a random jump, not confirming, thanks.

I confirm. The selected item indeed loses focus on date change (so that the focus is on another item). This happens even if the change does not lead to reordering of items. Addition to steps to reproduce: you first need to switch your calendar to List view. The list need not be long, focus has been lost for lists of 28 and 10 items.

May someone confirm this with a hardy heron installation ? It works fine for me here with it, thanks.

I confirm this behavior in Hardy, with Evoltion 2.24.3.

Not only when I edit a task, but sometimes, when I move from email view to calendar view (with task list on the right), scroll of task list moves to the end. And I have to replace it again at the top.

This happens also when (sometimes!) I'm with Evolution opened in calendar view, and I open another application, let's say, Firefox, and then, when I focus evolution again, in calendar view, as it was, (with task list on the right side), it srolls the task list automatically to the end of the list, and I again have to scroll manually to the begining.

As I have a huge task list, this is very boring.

Hardy doesn't have that version of evolution, please open a new bug with detailed instructions on how to reproduce the issue, thanks in advance.
