Bug Description
After upgrade to Gutsy, fonts look blurry if LCD-subpixel is enabled.
If I disable LCD-subpixel, the fonts look OK but in my laptop display the should look even better (provided LCD-subpixel worked OK).
I've been told that this does not happen after a fresh install. Not tried though.
I've done the following without success in order to try to fix the problem:
sudo dpkg-reconfigure fontconfig-config
sudo dpkg-reconfigure fontconfig
Firefox-3 fonts look cute but Firefox fonts look blurry.

I seem to have the same problem on Gutsy. With ~/.fonts.conf present I always get super-blurry over-antialiased fonts. I've removed .fonts.conf and now my KDE4 fonts are good (slightly antialised), but my KDE3 fonts, Thunderbird, Firefox, & GIMP GUI are blurry.
