Bug Description

OOPS-669A340

Can not get working printer Lexmark z32, downloaded and installed 'Lexmark-Z32-lxm3200-tweaked.ppd' driver, however, there seems to be no parallel port detected. On the forums could not find any solution which would work. Running Feisty on Toshiba Tecra. Situation is the same even if change in ECP to Bi-directional is made in BIOS.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Could you please try the following things:

1. Make sure that the printer is connected to your system and powered on.
2. Open a terminal/console and check if the lp and ppdev kernel modules are loaded:
$ lsmod | grep lp
3. Check if the kernel detected the parallel port during bootup:
$ dmesg | grep par
4. Find out if your printer gets detected by CUPS:
$ lpinfo -v

Thanks in advance.
