Some mount points are invisible to Dolphin and Konqueror

Bug Description

In Feisty I created a mount point in the /media folder that I use for Truecrypt "drives". After upgrading to Gutsy, that folder seemed to have disappeared.

After a little digging and trial and error, I figured out it is there (I can mount it, see it, and access it through a shell), but Dolphin and Konqueror can't see it. Even if I run them as root, they can't see it or access it.

If I enter the location in the address bar, I get and error that says the file does not exist.

Please note that the mount point was NOT created with Truecrypt (It is not a Truecrypt problem).

Happy bug hunting!

I figured out part of it. Using Dolphin or Konqueror I was looking at "Storage Media" which is "system:/media/". My mount point does not show there as it did in Feisty. When I looked for it with a shell, I looked in /media and found it.

So now I would say the bug is that some mounts do not show in "system:/media/" as they did in Feisty.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage . I have classified this bug as a bug in konqueror.
