STATUS UPDATE:

Upstream maintainer informs me he is packaged and ready to upload as soon as a sid gtk transition settles down. There's no critical urgency to get this package in so I shall wait :)

Will the feisty & gutsy backports also be updated? Those are at 0.91.

FYI, Transmission 0.94 released on 11/26.

Yes as soon as Debian reacts I will backport too.

I don't understand this perfectly.

A) Why is Transmission's version 0.7* in Ubuntu (same thing with Kipinä)? Is this due to Debian?
B) Are we talking about updates at universe or backport level?

Thanks

Transmission 0.91 is in Ubuntu Hardy, along with Gutsy Backports. This is due to Debian's latest version being 0.91 -- as Debian historically has proven themselves to be very fast to package Transmission and Transmission needs DFSG style repacking to meet FOSS license requiements, I'd rather not jump ahead of Debian which means we cannot auto-sync from Debian after that without hassling an archive administrator.

Please be patient -- if Transmission 0.93/0.94 is not in Debian by the end of this week, then I will go ahead and package it myself.

I'm absolutely calm. Just didn't understand the situation, because Gutsy's version is 0.72.dfsg-1, and in OpenSUSE would get updates from time to time (not always a good thing).
For instance, a few hours ago 0.94-1.1 was added into their filesharing repository.

Thanks for the explanation.

0.93-2 synced over from Debian already. Debian seems back on normal schedule :)
