Bug Description

Binary package hint: mplayer

There is currently no Ubuntu package for the MPlayer binary codecs that are found at http://www.mplayerhq.hu/design7/dload.html#binary_codecs. There should be. These codecs are necessary to play certain things, for example RealVideo 3 and 4. Perhaps you'd have to put them in non-free or multiverse, I don't know, but they should be somewhere. Currently, if a newbie was to run a search through the APT archives for "realvideo" in the hopes of finding something that could play the rmvb file that they just downloaded, it'd turn up nothing, and they'd conclude that Ubuntu/Linux can't play it.
