Bug Description

I have found that on Ubuntu GNOME 16.10 with GNOME 3.22 that I am unable to remove signing keys in the Authentication tab. If I select a key I wish to remove and click the Remove button, either nothing will happen, or it will ask me for authentication, upon giving it the correct password all that will happen is it will deselect the key I select, but at no point will it actually remove it, which is rather annoying.

Re-opening since this is triviably reproducible on Ubuntu 18.04.

I can confirm this. Also, specifying the -d flag upon executing this program through a terminal emulator returns no useful debug info to help us.

I also have this bug. Both on Ubuntu (gnome) and Ubuntu Mate. I even posted it on Ubuntu Mate's community forum, they just instruct me to delete the keys via terminal. No solution or reason why it doesn't work on the GUI part.

And checking on this report, bug exist since January 2017? Will this get even fixed?

On Ubuntu 18.04 (Long Term Support release), software-properties is only available up to version 0.96.24.32.7 from bionic-updates and version 0.96.30 is not available. When will this be available for 18.04, since this is the LTS release?

Ian, software-properties is not mentioned on the “Pending Ubuntu Stable Release Updates” page. <http://people.canonical.com/~ubuntu-archive/pending-sru.html>

The process for issuing a Stable Release Update is on the Ubuntu wiki.
<https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates> Even if you aren’t an Ubuntu developer, you could probably carry out the first three steps.

If it’s declined for an SRU, the next best option would be requesting a backport. <https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuBackports>
