Bug Description

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

I tried to export a document to pdf format, using encryption in order to prohibit copying. While this seems to work very well with adobe acrobat as well as with foxit, it does not work at all with evince, ie when I open the produced pdf with evince it allows copying, as if there was not any encryption.

Does evince work for other pdfs that have 'encyption'? It may be that the encryption is just a flag that evince doesn't abide by... which would then not be a bug in OpenOffice

OpenOffice.org 2.4.0~rc2 properly restricts use in the pdf, evince doesn't care, and actually probably shouldn't care since DRM sucks. But if the user happens to be using official acrobat then the document restricts them from being able to do anything useful if the security options are used when exporting in OpenOffice.
