Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

Ubuntu Hardy Alpha 1 + current updates, 2.6.24-1 kernel installed from repository.

Each time I start or quit Firefox, the process md5sums begins to run. Process manager shows it to be an "uninterruptable" process, and other actions on te machine are held in abeyance. Once md5sums completes, Firefox opens as requested and operates normally; if quiting, once md5sums finishes Firefox closes normally with no residual effects evident on the system.

I have not noticed this behaviour with any other application.

uninstaling and reinstalling Firefox and related packages via Synaptic will correct the symptoms, so it is likely the result of a local condition.
