while watching video from youtube in firefox browser the video's sound skips like a broken record...

this is most likely due to bandwidth or performance issues on your local system.

Changed in firefox:
status:	New → Invalid

I'm not so sure.. but I believe I've got the same issue. Google brings up tons of stuff on other sound issues, but none like this. even if I pause the video until it completes downloading it will still "skip" every few minutes during playback. it's not only youtube, but almost any streaming flv.

I do belive this is hardware related however as I've used remastersys to build a live CD of my system, booted it on same hardware gave the same problem, booted it on another workstation and it worked great.

for what it's worth I've got ali 5451 onboard sound, on an HP Pavillion ze4229 laptop. I'll be trying this out soon hopefully with a pcmcia soundblaster livem (so long as i can still get my hands on one)

another datapoint...

Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop.

I've had this problem for a long time... it has spanned multiple versions of Firefox and Flash. I've removed my .macromedia folder with no effect. Currently running Firefox 3.6 beta (tinderbox) and Flash 10, experienced all of the way back to the 2.x FF and Flash 9 (possibly 8).
