Bug Description
Ubuntu: 7.10 (gutsy)
kernel version: 2.6.22-14-generic
platform: 64bit
graphic card: GeForce 7600 GS
steps 2 proceed:
- log in in graphics mode
- switch with e.g. ALT+F1 to text mode
- switch with ALT+F7 back to graphics mode
You'll see a blank white screen. It's only possible 2 guess where the elements are by orientating on quick help when moving the mouse over an element. If you reach the Standby- Button in the top-right corner you can log off, you'll see the different options. Than you can say log off, return to the Login form and get a normal graphical desktop.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.
