Triaged to Incomplete. We need more info to debug this issue. It appears that there is an existing XFS partition on the drive and perhaps that is tripping up the installation. What other OS's are installed on this drive and how are they arranged?

Please post /var/log/installer/syslog as well (it's different from /var/log/syslog).

Marked as Confirmed. It looks like a parted problem. Not sure if it is related to the existing Windows XP partition or not, but parted had problems formatting linux partition. XFS messages were related to NTFS Windows XP partition. Since this install was on a separate Linux partition, that would point towards a parted problem.

Marking as Incomplete as we need the syslog file that Colin requested before we can proceed.
