Binary package hint: openoffice.org

Rahmen: Linux-Ubuntu 7.10 OpenOffice 2.3
In den Symbolleisten werden die Elemente nur in Textform dargestellt. Die Grafiken fehlen. In EXTRA-OPTIONEN-OpenOffice.org ist die Symbolgröße
und der Symbolstil definiert.
Bai anderen Usern der gleichen Maschine sind die Symbole sichtbar.

That sounds like your user settings profile is corrupted, if it works for other users.
