Bug Description

Binary package hint: amarok

Version: 2:1.4.8-0ubuntu1

Ubuntu 8.04 alpha (last dist-upgrade with reboot less than an hour ago)

vlc can play this file, so I think it is not a corrupted file and the codec seems to be installed correctly.

Is this still happening?
Can you reproduce it?

Amarok does not crash. It says: No suitable demux plugin
Totem can play this file.

I now use Ubuntu 8.04 amd64.

Marking as invalid, as the report reported Amarok not reporting a crash anymore ;-)

As for a solution:
Amarok uses a different audio processing backend than Totem and VLC, you will need to have mplayer's w32codecs installed (see help.ubuntu.com for help).
