Bug Description

After Kernel update to 2.6.22-14.47 my laptop (Hp Pavilion tx1215nr) display could not configure always booted to safe video mode with no way to change the resolution. Discovered that the problem resided with having the HWCursor "off" under Devices in xorg.conf. Using the Nvidia C51 [Geforce 6150 Go] (rev a2) video card. It seemed to disable the drivers and also caused splash screen failures.

The bug summary makes no sense to me. Please clarify your problem if it hasn't been solved yet. Which version of Ubuntu are you using? There should be no need for editing anything in xorg.conf in Hardy.
