Bug Description

Binary package hint: exuberant-ctags

This bug has already been reported and fixed in exuberant-ctags SVN #632: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1856363&group_id=6556&atid=106556

It's a tiny 2 line fix which saves a lot of annoyance for python/ctags users.

Thanks for your diff and your patch.

Could you please file a debian bug for this as well? Its likely that the debian maintainer will happily take the patch and then we can just sync it.

  * Backport from upstream (thanks, Daniel Hahler of Ubuntu;
    closes: #460982, LP: #179492):
    - Fix parsing of Python variables starting with "def" or "class" as
      function or class definitions.
  * Policy version 3.7.3: no changes required.
  * Add an actual copyright notice to debian/copyright (from 'ctags
    --version' output).
