Bug Description

Binary package hint: madwifi-tools

I have an Acer laptop 5570-2067 which has an Atheros AR5BXB63 wireless card. I have tested installing Feisty release but my wireless card was not recognized properly. I have tested also Hardy but I have the same problem.

Cheers

can you try an ibex live cd?

I have
03:00.0 Ethernet controller: Atheros Communications Inc. AR242x 802.11abg Wireless PCI Express Adapter (rev 01)

I had problems with hardy, but ibex uses the new ath5k drivers, and it has worked fine* for me

[*] ath5k currently does not support being an ap, but most people don't want that. - there are patches,.

Gialamas, thank you for reporting this bug and helping make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Natty Narwhal. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ .
Should it not work please execute the following command in the Live CD environment, as it will automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal:
