Bug Description

Hello all,
at first i'm sorry for my bad english... but i hope you understand me.
i got the problem that after a resume from suspend2ram my system isnt going to suspend or switching the display off.
after trying a lot with the acpi-support settings and starting gnome-power-manager and gnome-screenserver with --no-daemon and --debug options i figured out that it is the gnome-screensaver that cannot set idle states correctly.
at all after the resume timeouts for switching the screen of and suspend do not work any more.
after a normal boot everything works fine, untill first suspend.
i tried it with different versions of gnome-screensaver, but everytime the same results.

the machine is a hp nx8220 notebook with intel centrino platform and ati graphics.
system is ubuntu gutsy.

greetings from munich, germany

leo

i attached the output of gnome-screensaver, gnome-power-manager and xorg.0.log.

the main difference betwen that output and the output if everything is correct is that in the gnome-power-manager the idle session is not changed... every minute i get the output:

[gpm_screensaver_powersave_idle_changed] gpm-screensaver.c:102 (12:25:26): emitting powersave-idle-changed : (1)
[powersave_idle_changed_cb] gpm-idle.c:335 (12:25:26): Received GS powesave idle changed: 1

hope the logs help.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Hardy Heron. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release at [WWW] http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ . Thanks again and we appreciate your help.
