Bug Description

Hello,
I have plugged my notebook to the power socket.
I want to watch a movie which is about an hour long. After some 5-10min. My screen gets dimmed down to black althought I set the power settings not to do so.

What can be done to prevent this behaviour?

I attach a screenshot of my power settings.

DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 7.10"

Thanks for your report, is this reproducible with another new user created on your system? do you have an LCD monitor that's configured to standby after a while? thanks.

I am using a notebook with a fixed monitor. About the other user account I don't know because I only use mine...

are you still facing the issue? can you try with intrepid? why you cannot create another new user and test with it?

No, I need a production system.

Try checking your screensaver settings (System -> Preferences -> Screensaver), and make sure the checkbox "Activate screensaver when computer is idle", and see whether you still encounter the same problem.
