Installed cheese package from synaptic, and the crash occurred when trying to launch. I'm using Hardy Alpha 4.

Webcam is now detected (Microdia) and Cheese works on Hardy Alpha 4 with updates on 15 Feb (kernel 2.6.24-7)!!!
