Bug Description
Note: these steps MUST be performed on a laptop and it must be configured to lock the screen when the laptop lid is closed.
1. Login to Gnome
2. Open the applications menu
3. WITHOUT closing the app menu, close the laptop lid.
4. Open laptop lid again
You should notice that it doesnt prompt for the password. This would be bad if you had synaptic, a root terminal or worse open. Even if you had none of those open, someone could rm -rf your home folder.
Note: This was done on Feisty, but i think it would be reproducible in Gutsy.

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 or 9.04?
