Bug Description

I just downloaded and installed the latest linux headers using the Ubuntu 7.10 package manager (2.6.22-14). Now the fans, hard disk and monitor all go to sleep every few minutes, even when the computer is no idle. They can all be woken up by pressing a key or moving the mouse, but it's very frustrating being interrupted for several seconds every few minutes. This occurs on an laptop with an intel pentium III 1GHz processor and an American Megatrends BIOS, version 062710, released 07/15/97.

As the original poster of the bug, I should let you know that recent updates (not sure which one) seemed to cure this problem, so there it's probably not worth spending any time looking into it unless someone else declares that they are having the same problem.

Cheers,

Paul
