Exception when encountering invalid block device

I've never seen this problem before, including when running in VirtualBox session. What devices do you have plugged into the VM other than the camera or memory card? Are the VirtualBox guest utilities installed?

I will not be able to work on this bug until September.

Meanwhile, if it helps, I suspect if you use another distro that is less bleeding edge the problem will not come up.

I use RPD without issue on my Manjaro KDE laptop. I am travelling so
installed a VM with Manjaro KDE on my Win10 laptop (work) to avoid
carrying both machines.

I do have the VB guest utilities are installed as I use shared folders. one
of them is the SD card, and I have another couple of them. I will test and
report.

I managed to copy my images and rename using exiftool, so this is not
critical for me

RPD is now starting and working.
I think it is down to the fact I had installed the guest utilities from the guest additions CD. I have since learned that for a Manjaro guest, the utilities should be installed from repositories.
after doing the change and re-installing RPD, it starts and seems to work fine. I think the bug can be closed
