Bug Description

Binary package hint: debian-installer

When trying to install Hardy on a IBM p550 (virtual lpar), the installer doesn´t detect the virtual ethernet device.

Could you attach /var/log/syslog from the running installer? (I'm not entirely sure how you can go about getting it out. The "Save debug logs" item from the main menu may help.)

If all else fails, transcribing everything from "Menu item 'ethdetect' selected" onwards might be enough.

Hi Colin,

For now, I can´t get the these informations, because this LPAR is already running with other OS.

I´ll see if the machine has available resources (CPU and memory) to create a new LPAR and try to perform a new install on it.
