Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. If it is enabled, could you disable the "Record Sound" option and try recording/saving again? This could be a duplicate of bug #63996. Thanks in advance!

Hello, I never had the record sound option enabled.

Now it crashes ealier too, often (but not always) right after clicking to record.

When I started it from the terminal, and decided to record a little square on the desktop, it printed:

8.04 is quite old, have you had this problem in 12.04 or later?
