Gnome doesnt shutdown

System: Ubuntu 8.04 AMD64
If I want to shutdown the system normaly I use the Gnome mainmenu but when I klick the shutdown button freeze Gnome for 30 seconds. After the freeze I klick the shutdown button then freeze the desktop again and shows only the wallpaper. Then I change to the console and shutdown the system with the command "halt -p". The shutdown doesnt work only in the Gnome Desktop. Sorry I dont know more information about this Bug and I dont know how I can debug gnome.
