Bug Description

Binary package hint: mplayer

The cropdetect filter (to automatically recognize black bands) doesn't work at all with the fbdev video output.
The video plays fine, but cropdetect gives no output.

When trying other video outputs, such as xv and x11, cropdetect works great.

I'm using the svn version of Mplayer from 10.2.2008 (r25967). This was also present in a revision about a year ago.

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 or 9.04?
