Bug Description

Binary package hint: epiphany-browser

I have a toolbar with a lot of search fields and some bookmarks in folders. The toolbar isn't so wide that all entries are displayed. I can reach the hiiden entries by a arrow on the rigth side. If I select this arrow and then a folder in the expanded toolbar and a wait some seconds epiphany freezes. The selected folder isn't displayed anymore. The main problem is that I cannot do anything anymore. I cannot kill epiphany or change the desk or start any other application. I think the open toolbar prevent me from this. I have to change to a virtual console to kill epiphany. Epiphany prints the following out on console before it freezes.

sys:1: GtkWarning: gtk_widget_event: assertion `GTK_IS_WIDGET (widget)' failed
sys:1: GtkWarning: gtk_propagate_event: assertion `GTK_IS_WIDGET (widget)' failed

It doesn't crash it freezes. How can I get a backtrace from that?

you can attach to the process with gdb, example: gdb /path/to/the/application PID or type ctrl+c if you run the application with gdb. Then follow the info listed here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace ; thanks in advance.

the backtrace has not debug information, could be a firefox or xulrunner issue

Can it be retraced? Or how should the file look like so that it is possible to retrace?

crashes sent using apport can be retraced but in this case you need to install the dbgsym packages for the concerned software and libraries

Backtrace with more debugging symbols. I hope this helps.
