Bug Description

Firefox 3 on hardy keeps crushing when i visit a particular site www.howtoforge.com, prior to the upgrade it worked fine. here is a dump or the error produced.

andrew@dexter:~$ firefox --sync
The program 'firefox' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)'.
  (Details: serial 84675 error_code 11 request_code 53 minor_code 0)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
   that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
   To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
   option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
   backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
Locking assertion failure. Backtrace:

This isn't a bug with Launchpad Bugs; I've retargeted it to Firefox.

I take it you're running Firefox 3b4. It's been fixed in nightlies since b4 came out and will be fixed in b5, which I should be out very soon. I visited several pages on howtoforge.com with Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9b5pre) Gecko/2008032204 Minefield/3.0b5pre ID:2008032204 and couldn't get a crash. I'm marking it as Fix Committed based on the behavior I'm seeing in the latest nightly build from Mozilla.
