Is this an error with Adept or update-manager? Are you running another package management application (APT, Aptitude, dpkg, Adept, Synaptic, etc.) at the same time?

This is not really a bug report. Please reopen it if you can give us the missing information. To reopen the bug report you can click on the current status, under the Status column, and change the Status back to "New".
