Bug Description

Snippets doesn't allow to "import snippets".. When I click on the button to "import snippets", a FileChooser appears, but we don't have focuse there( only in the Snippet window) and I can't choose any file.

I'm using ubuntu gusty and gedit 2.20.3

Best regards

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, because your description didn't include enough information.

Why can't you click on the FileCooser window for focusing it?

Please also provide the output of: dpkg -l '*gedit*'

Thanks!

Hi!
I've attached a video to show what I mean.
In the video in the "Snippets Manager" I choose to "import snippet", but there I try to click in any part on that window but I don't have focuse in it. But if I move that window, I can access the "Snippets Manager" and choose to close it.
After I do this, I can have focuse on the "import snippet" window. I think this is a small bug maybe related to the owner Frame(at least in java sometimes this occurs).

Best regards.

The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Hardy Heron. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ . Thanks again and we appreciate your help.

I'm having the same problem. How would I go about manually adding a snippet(say, rhtml.xml) to gedit? I tried dropping the file in /usr/share/gedit-2/plugins/snippets and that didn't work. Any suggestions?

I have the same error, which is explain here http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=497601 like Sebastien Bacher noticed.

This bug occures under both Ubuntu 9.04 and 9.10.

dpkg -l '*gedit*'
Desired=Unknown/Install/Remove/Purge/Hold
| Status=Not/Inst/Cfg-files/Unpacked/Failed-cfg/Half-inst/trig-aWait/Trig-pend

ii gedit-plugins 2.28.0-0ubuntu set of plugins for gedit

When i click on import snippet button, the import window is shown on front but the precedent window (list of snippets) always has focus.

Any idea to fix it ?

The situation still exists on my Ubuntu 9.10 with gedit 2.28.0.
But I found a workaround. Try the following:

From Menu Tools>Manage Sinppets... Click "import snippets" button. You should be able to select the file and import it.
