Bug Description
Binary package hint: rhythmbox
Ubuntu Hardy Heron 8.04 (fully updated as of Wed Feb 20 02:51:20 UTC 2008)
Rhythmbox version 0.11.4 (0.11.4-0ubuntu6)
libmtp7 (0.2.5-1ubuntu1)
The MTP plugin fails to open a connection my device, I believe due to improper permissions somewhere. When rhythmbox is run as root, the plugin loads and connects to the device allowing me to transfer songs and browse my library. the mtp-tool mtp-detect is able to open a connection with my device as a normal user and does not require root permissions. When I run rhythmbox with $ rhythmbox -D mtp the following is outputted:
LIBMTP_
Rhythmbox: could not connect to socket
Rhythmbox: No such file or directory
thanks
Is this still a problem with the current hardy?
