Bug Description

The list of screen resolutions in the Preferences appears to be two lists one after the other.

Furthermore, many of them are really quite outlandish.
Screenshot attached.

I'm using 7.10, with a GeForce 6600 and a Sony G420 monitor.

Sorry, my fault.
I mean the order's wrong: it's like two lists stuck together, A-Z,A-Z.

Examine /etc/X11/xorg.conf, you may have duplicate entries. Make a backup copy before editing though.

>sudo cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.bak
>sudo nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Marking as incomplete until reporter responds with xorg.conf results.

Changing Status to Invalid. This appears to be normal behavior. The duplicate entries are probably different refresh rates for the same resolution. Why they don't show up is a mystery. I have a Dell monitor that's really a Sony G420. Since it is a multsync monitor, it supports many resolutions and refresh rates. Some of these are strange. If you want to limit what is presented, then you will need to manually edit xorg.conf file and remove the modelines and resolution statements that you don't want to see.

Why are they in the wrong order?
