Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-mount

I'm using a LUKS encrypted ext2 partitition on an usb stick to store some data.

I expect following:
After sticking in, gnome-mount opens a dialog (like [1]) where it asks the passphrase, after that it mounts the luksOpened cleartext-mapper.

What happens:
nothing visuable.
In /dev/disk/by-uuid there is a symlink created to the LUKS partition on my stick.
gvm.log shows, that gnome-volume-manager recognizes an encrypted volume, but nothing more happens.

How I got some maybe useful data to debug:
Followed instructions in [2], gvm.log, udev.log, lshal.txt, dmesg.txt and devices.txt will be there as attachements.

This was filed as a new bug, because other bugs concerning gnome-mount / gnome-volume-manager and luks encrypted volumes showed up a dialog to open the volumes.
This does not happen here.

I think I can confirm this issue as well, I insert the luks encrypted volume and it doesn't seem to be detected. I can mount the volume manually via cryptmount but gnome-volume-manager does not seem to detect it.

The bug 516037 is now marked as fixed so when that hits Ubuntu I will retest

The fix hit Ubuntu and fixed a large part of the problem, I now receive the attached error. Should this be assigned to the package DBUS or HAL?

It looks like the issue is fixed for me, maybe the reported can validate it as well and close if resolved?
