Bug Description

Binary package hint: gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg

Ubuntu Hardy Alpha 5 fresh install.

When trying to play some files in proprietary format I got following warnings:

"GStreamer extra plugins cannot be installed on your computer type (i386)
Either the application requires special hardware features or the vendor decided to not support your computer type."

Totem Movie Player 2.21.93 using GStreamer 0.10.17
An error occurred
The playback of this movie requires a MPEG-1 Layer 3 (MP3) decoder plugin which is not installed.
Rhythmbox 0.11.4 got the same problems

When searching for appropriate codecs the following warning occurred:

"Could not download all repository indexes
Failed to fetch http://pl.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/hardy/universe/binary-i386/Packages.bz2 Hash Sum mismatch
Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead."

There was no such problems in Hardy Alpha 4 and Gusty.

does this problem persist after executing "apt-get update"?, i don't have any problem when trying to install this package.

sorry for little delay. "Apt-get update" doesn't solve the problem.

When using Totem auto codecs search tool the same command appears.

I think that I'd better wait for the new Alpha version. And what is your
opinion...

The bug is solved for now with Alpha 6 release. No update of any installed software was possible before.

To solve the problem I just had to install the new Alpha version and change the default server for Ubuntu repositories. The bug can be closed.
