Hi,

Could you please explain a little more what you mean by
"I type in My user name and my password it goes in and out."

Do you mean that your password is not accepted, or that
it is accepted and you start to login, and then you are presented
the login screen again?

If it is the second then how far do you get? Are you shown a desktop
beforehand? Or is it immediately after your password is accepted?

Thanks,

James

Hi,

If you change the assignee to yourself it means that you intend to
fix the bug, is that the case?

Some extra things that may be useful in debugging this issue are,
after a failed login attempt the contents of

  * /var/log/Xorg.0.log
  * ~/.xsession-errors
  * /var/log/gdm/:0.log

Thanks,

James

Hi,

You can get a console login by pressing CTRL+ALT+F1.

Could you also try logging in using different sessions
in gdm so that we know whether it is gnome-specific?
You can do this using the Options menu in the bottom
left corner.

Thanks,

James
