Bug Description

I use a Acer Aspire 5610 with dual boot for ubuntu 10.7 and windows xp sp2. With the first I'm feeling, after a brief use, strong pain in my eyes. The same thing is not happening on MS windows.
This is, against my wishes, migrate agains to the not open sourse os.

Can you see that there is a different resolution, flickering or something else that doesn't happen on Windows XP?

First, thanks for the interest.

As for flickering I have to say that Acer Aspire 5610 is a laptop.
And for "something else", I don't know where to look for.

By something else, I mean about anything that is different with the display. There must be something, if you're eyes get hurt when using Ubuntu, but not when using Windows. And you, as the user, are the only one that can say what it could be. Try looking for some tiny details (they _do_ matter when you use it for longer time), like, if you look at the bottom left corner, do you see something strange on the upper right corner of the screen?

There usually won't be anything on LCD screens, but if it is misconfigured, there is a slight possibility that there is.
