Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

Hardy Alpha 5 -

I am running an Acer TravelMate 2428AWXMi laptop with Hardy alpha 5 and the power notification is not updating in real time on my system. The percent charge is only ever updated when I connect or disconnect AC power. As well, the estimated time remaining to charge OR discharge the battery is always unknown.

Running acpi or looking at the output of /proc/acpi/battery/*/* shows updated information whenever I run them, so the problem seems to exist within the power manager notification.

Thank you for your bug report. However, it's not complete yet. We still need some more information.
Could you please attach the output of the following commands in a file to the bugreport:
gnome-power-bugreport.sh (Yes, it's a command.)
hal-find-by-capability --capability "battery"
lshal -m (This command isn't like normal commands, it is more like syslogd, whenever an event happens while this command is running it is displayed in the console where it was executed.)
gconftool --recursive-list /apps/gnome-power-manager

Thank you for your time,
Sense Hofstede
