Bug Description

Binary package hint: spe

The last spe release (0.8.4c-1~hardy1) requires pychecker >= 0.8.17-5 (quoting from the changelog: "Depend on pychecker >= 0.8.17-5 to get pychecker2 too").
Is this absolutely necessary?
Because of bug 184221 pychecker 0.8.17-5 cannot be build and as a consequence spe is not installable.

Blocked by bug 184221. I could disable the pychecker plugin temporarily, as using the pychecker's code spe ships is acceptable (as the Security Team will kill me for duplicate code in the archive).

Stani, is it possible to only use pychecker (and not pychecker and pychecker2) with latest SPE? If so, that would solve this bug while pychecker isn't fixed.

But of course the best would be to fix pychecker to build with python2.5.

Importance is importance to the distro, not to the package. High is a bit much.

Fixed pychecker just uploaded.

Thanks Scott. I don't have immediate access to a Hardy machine. Can you someone confirm if pychecker *actually* works in SPE in Hardy with Tools>Check Source with PyChecker (Ctrl+Alt+C) or the V sign in the toolbar?
Please report back in launchpad,
Stani

This was importance high for the same reason we set high to FTBFS.

Anyway it's irrelevant now, as pychecker is fixed and this bug is no longer valid.

I can confirm that checking python code in spe 0.8.4c-1~hardy1 with pychecker 0.8.17-8ubuntu1 works.
