cd in drive fails to mount

Bug Description

When I insert a blank cd-r into the drive it recognizes that it is there, but when i try to open it with a file browser or a cd burning utility, it either decides the disk is unwritable, or displays a failure to mount message.

Are you trying to burn with other application (gnome-Baker) it works or fails too?
