Bug Description

Binary package hint: file-roller

File Roller (file-roller-2.20.1-0ubuntu1) recognizes correctly CBZ files as archived files in ZIP format. However, even with the rar-1:3.7b1-2 and unrar-1:3.7.3-1.1 installed, File Roller fails to recognize CBR files as RAR.

Renaming the CBR file to RAR (foo.cbr -> foo.rar) results in the file being opened correctly. The contrary is the bug being reported here: RAR to CBR (foo.rar -> foo.cbr) is not recognized. The same for CBZ and ZIP (foo.cbz -> foo.zip), but File Roller already recognizes foo.cbz and opens it normally, even in reverse: foo.zip -> foo.cbz is opened normally.

This bug (unrecognition of cbr as rar) happens when the archive is opened through nautilus-1:2.20.0-0ubuntu7 (right click->"Open with Archive Manager"), or within File Roller (Archive->Open). In the last case, File Roller even closes itself, without any warning.

CBR and CBZ files are called so because normally they contain only image files (jpg, png, bmp, etc) archived in a rar or zip format, hence the name CB? (comic book <archive format>).

I'm currently using Ubuntu Gutsy 7.10, updated to day (2/27/8)

A sample file for this shouldn't be needed, as the behaviour described can be reproduced with any .rar file renamed to .cbr. Even so, I attached a sample image, compressed with file-roller to rar format, and renamed to .cbr.
