Bug Description

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

My release of Ubuntu: 7.10
rhythmbox version 0.11.2-0ubuntu4

If I mount a particular smb share, rhythmbox crashes (I think it's trying to analyze it). I can not restart rhythmox until I unmount this folder. It may be useful to know that this folder contains file names with wrong caracter encoding (I should fix this, but rhythmbox should not crash because of this).

Here are the errors rhythmbox is giving:
(rhythmbox:8516): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_utf8_casefold: assertion `str != NULL' failed

(rhythmbox:8516): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_utf8_collate: assertion `str1 != NULL' failed

(rhythmbox:8516): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_utf8_casefold: assertion `str != NULL' failed

(rhythmbox:8516): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_utf8_collate: assertion `str1 != NULL' failed

** (rhythmbox:8516): CRITICAL **: ipod_parse_artwork_db: assertion `itdb' failed

(rhythmbox:8516): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_type_instance_get_private: assertion `instance != NULL && instance->g_class != NULL' failed

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a ".crash" file. Please follow these instuctions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit.

I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.
