At the time, adept was applying updates. Guidance reported that the power had been removed, which wasn't the case and then the reported python exception occurred.

Guidance Power Manager will report missing battery/power during a hal/dbus
restart (that part is expected) and then would generally recover on it's
own.

This worked on mine
Make sure KDE Resources are properly installed & install Python 3.
No problems since

Installing Python 3 is very unlikely to help.

I suspect this is a race condition where hal/dbus/guidance don't get started
in the right order sometimes.

get it.

The bluetooth issues are purely because bluez was updated and the current
kdebluetooth is incompatible.

Right... I have experienced numerous Python related issues on this install including the one you just mentioned. So it looks like that could possibly be the root cause (although no other issue happened in proximity to this one). I too would hate to imagine that many buggy KDE Python programs.

Thankyou,

Ray

The DBusException in call_blocking() was a combination of HAL being late to start on boot and guidance -power-manager not tolerating that well. I uploaded a fix so GPM will just wait for HAL to start. This should solve this.
